Lindemann is not a specific individual. Rather, it's the surname Avery uses to refer to a frequently-crooked family of fishpeople who chronically show up in his travels. Every member of the Lindemann lineage bears an uncanny resemblance to each other.

Also, apparently, a lot of them really fucking hate Avery, to the point of proclaiming how many years have passed since some kind of "incident" with their original ancestor, upon seeing him. This is a rivalry that transcends time itself.
